Satellite Lab is a creative studio and R&D laboratory that develops and uses proprietary and patented in-camera imaging technology for filmmaking and photography. Their DynamicLight technology enables the use of moving light sources within footage captured at any speed, including the frozen world of high speed imaging. When using a high speed cinema camera and light sources moving at over 10,000 feet per second, this technology creates the ability to move light sources within images frozen in time. The more recent Plate Light provides the ability to capture multiple lighting set-ups simultaneously on the same camera. Each is recorded as separate footage of the same live action, with minimal time offset. Works with moving camera(s) and subjects. The lighting plates can be combined in post for creative or technical flexibility and efficiency. The studio directs and creates work ranging from video installations and commercials to interactive experiences. They also develop unique in-camera approaches and looks for feature films and were behind key scenes in Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder.
