Marcello Lima

The son of a respected book publisher, Marcello Lima spent his childhood in Brazil surrounded by cartoonists and writers, and always thought he’d be a cartoonist too when he grew up. Instead, he succumbed to the lure of his friends’ Super 8mm film projects in college, eventually moving to New York to study at The New School for Film Production. The directing career he subsequently sketched out for himself includes ad campaigns for brands like Coca-Cola, Peugeot, Hyundai, Samsung, Volkswagen, Honda and Netflix — although he thinks his gig as the father of twin girls is the best role of all.
