When the inventor of The Cronut™, Dominique Ansel, asked his long-time friend Thomas Schauer to collaborate with him on his debut cookbook: The Secret Recipes, they decided stills alone could not fully capture the whimsy of this newly-minted pastry chefs famous concoctions. They needed to amplify ‘the play that comes with creating something great and ambitious, and the joyful, cathartic fun that fills your cheekbones when destroying ones own precious creations.
